Vietnam ranked third in Asia among the most attractive destination for expats, according to a survey conducted by HSBC.
Results from those polled indicated that 52% of expats in Vietnam said they earn more than they would in their home countries, compared to the global average of 53%.

Another appealing feature turned out to be a large percentage of disposable income because of lower prices in products across the board, from transportation to entertainment, and 79% of expats living in Vietnam said they traveled more than they would have done in their home countries.
Local cuisine also topped the list of favourites amongh foreigners, with 80% saying that they enjoy Vietnamese food. Also, 87% say they enjoy the country’s fare compared to an average of 72% globally.
Statistics from the labour ministry, which are still incomplete, indicate that there were more than 80,000 foreigners working in Vietnam as of 2013. More than half of them worked in HCM City.
The survey included nationals of more than 60 countries, 58% of which came from other Asian countries, while just more than 28% came from Europe.
According to the survey, the highest ranking country to live in was Switzerland for its quality of life, followed by Singapore, China, Germany, and Bahrain.
The survey was conducted online, and included 9,300 individuals from over 100 countries.
